Bath House back to its best

Scheme: Convert 20 apartments, build a new care home and restore a Grade II listed building in the High Street, Wetherby, Yorkshire.

Client: Sanctuary Housing Association/Leonard Cheshire Housing Association

Description: Bramall refurbished the Grade II listed building in the centre of Wetherby into 20 apartments, built a 35-bed care home and restored a Grade I listed Bath House to its original condition. The Bath House overlooks a small lake and the area surrounding this has now been made into a reservation area with public footpaths. Originally the building was a large Victorian residence which was split over several floors, with a basement and attic. The converted apartments were mostly built for rent, although some were for shared ownership.

Value: £1.5 million

Completed: September 1998.
