Description: Bramall refurbished classrooms in the main block, entrance and clock tower of the former Thorne Grammar School to create 15 new apartments. Many of the original features of the 1928 building, such as tiles and internal stone pillars were preserved, huge new windows were fitted to the original frames to provide impressive views and the old school clock was restored to full working order. Another 16 flats including two, three, and four-bed apartments - some specially fitted for disabled residents - were also built in two new adjacent blocks. The entire development enjoys beautiful views overlooking the playing fields of the new Thorne Academy.
