Training

Bramall currently employs 205 trainees across the schemes we are working on, showing our commitment to the development of both young people and people retraining. For the EPC programme, we propose that trainees would be recruited over the first 3 years of the programme, with the numbers split over each year according to the type and volume of work we would be delivering.

We anticipate creating opportunities for up to 8 trainees, dependent on EPC's allocation of works. We estimate this will account for 10% of the workforce delivering the works, including subcontractor and directly employed staff.

Bramall have our own in-house assessment facility and work closely with colleges to ensure that our trainees have a high level of support throughout their training.

However, where this happens, we prefer to work in true partnership. At Bramall we are eager to give each trainee the optimum experience and are willing to move trainees around to other contractors so that they gain an insight into many aspects of their role. We also aim to have an agreement with subcontractors, to provide placements for trainees and apprentices. Hence we are able to offer a wider scope of opportunity for trainees.

On all schemes, we aim to link with local initiatives for employment. Looking across current programmes, we link with:

  • Intermediate labour market initiatives, such as Homebuilder and Construction Job Match
  • Resettlement programmes e.g. from armed forces
  • The local Construction Skills broker
