Several residents at Edward Court, Accrington enjoyed a summer tea party while their gardens were cleaned courtesy of Bramall and Hyndburn Homes. The tea party and garden makeover had been organised to celebrate the end of the renovations, which involved installing new kitchens, bathrooms and central heating systems for almost 40 households.
Terry Hannon, Site Manager explained why the company is so proud of
its local employment record. He said: "Bramall is well above
the national average in terms of providing jobs for local people
and we are really pleased to have so many people from the local
community working on this scheme. At Bramall we understand that our
work impacts directly on people's everyday lives and our
employees often end up working in an area that they know very well,
alongside people they count as friends and neighbours- that's a
really positive situation for any company."
Susan Haworth from Hyndburn Homes added: "Even though the end
result is worth it - having your house totally renovated can be
quite an upheaval, especially for older residents. That's why
it's nice to have the chance to celebrate in such a positive
way."
