Sabrinha's surveying her options

Before working for Bramall Construction, Sabrinha had completed a BSc (Hons) Geography degree at Manchester Metropolitan University as well as working at a child care / activity centre within the local area. After completing her degree Sabrinha decided she would like to pursue a career within the construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor.

After much research into various companies she found out about Bramall Construction and the opportunities they provide. Sabrinha attended a Construction Careers Event at the Powerhouse, Moss Side organised by Bramall Construction where she left her CV with one of the Quantity Surveyors. Through a local careers development programme advertised by City South in the local area, Sabrinha also applied and sent in her CV. She was called in for to be interviewed at City South, where there were other local employers - one of whom was Bramall Construction.

Sabrinha said 'Bramall Construction gave me the opportunity to undertake work experience within their company along side their quantity surveyors. I was then later offered a permanent position within the company as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor'.

Sabrinha is currently working on the Decent Homes Scheme within the local areas of Fallowfield and Moss Side, South Manchester.

Bramall Construction have also sponsored Sabrinha to complete a Post Graduate Diploma at the College of Estate Management. The post graduate qualification accredited by the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors (RICS) will allow her in the future to complete her APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) and become a chartered surveyor.

Sabrinha said 'In the future I hope to become a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor with Bramall Construction. I look forward to new future projects and challenges in addition to learning more new skills and knowledge from my colleagues. This opportunity has changed my life for the better, I have landed my dream job which will assist me to further develop my career as a quantity surveyor within the construction industry'.
