New appointment lays foundations for growth in Yorkshire and Humberside

One of the country's best known social housing and regeneration specialists has appointed Neil Robertson as Business Development Manager to support the company's delivery of millions of pounds worth of community improvements in Yorkshire and Humberside.

Neil, who lives in Lodge Moor, in Sheffield, joins Wath-based Bramall Construction to work on building new partnerships and brings to the role an appreciation of the engineering aspects of regeneration.

He will help the company develop new partnerships in Yorkshire and East Yorkshire with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Registered Social Landlords, local authorities and other agencies as well as looking after existing clients.

Neil, a Chartered Marketer, with an MSc in Marketing Management, has more than 20 years' experience in the sector. He previously worked for Scott Wilson, an integrated design and engineering consultancy, and was Project Manager on the Cortonwood reclamation scheme, a large-scale regeneration project in the Dearne Valley amongst other regeneration schemes.

He progressed to Head of Marketing and Business Development for Scott Wilson's Central Division. Neil, who is also a Chartered Civil Engineer, recently spent a short time at consulting engineers Morgan Tucker as Director of Sales and Marketing before joining Bramall Construction.
"My experience in the industry enables me to visualise how difficult sites may be 'engineered' to create vibrant developments which will benefit the whole community," said Neil.

"I have a passionate interest in the placemaking agenda which means I look forward to seeing the schemes I instigate turn into communities."

Neil is also interested in affordable housing and says this role will satisfy his social conscience as he feels he has the opportunity to give something back to communities.
