One of England's biggest housing and regeneration companies has once again been named amongst the best in the country for the caring way it works with communities.
Keepmoat FHM and Bramall Construction, this year have won 48 awards in total.
Keepmoat has won the awards for its work to bring more Council-owned houses up to standard, by installing new kitchens, bathrooms, carrying out re-wiring and fitting new heating systems, windows and doors. The work has taken place while the residents, many of whom are elderly, remained in their homes.
Judges comments of one site in Pontefract were: "The contractors have ensured an excellent level of customer care has been achieved in all areas. The site is a credit to staff and their operatives."
The awards follow a series of thorough inspections of all successful sites by judges from the Considerate Constructors Scheme, who looked for evidence of strong partnership working with local communities, tenants and a positive approach to the environment.
This year, around 550 awards were presented to sites selected from over 7,000 eligible projects. The news continues Keepmoat's long standing successful links with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. Last year, Keepmoat was the first organisation to have more than 1,000 sites registered with the project since it was established in 1997.
Keepmoat Director of Regeneration Allen Hickling said: "These awards recognise that it is not just about what we are doing as a company, but the way we are delivering and working with local communities and I am delighted that our group companies have once again picked up a significant amount of Considerate Constructors awards.
"These awards come at a time when the industry is really
feeling the effects of the financial downturn, so it is a great
boost, especially for our staff who have worked tirelessly during
the past year to ensure that we are indeed, a good neighbour and a
considerate constructor.
"The ethos of the Considerate Constructors Scheme is something
that Keepmoat and its companies strongly support."
