BUMPER DONATION: Granada's Paul Crone supports Bramall Construction's mission to keep the Air Ambulance service airborne.
Kind-hearted staff at Bramall Construction Ltd. have kick started the New Year by raising a generous £12,454 for the North-West and Yorkshire Air Ambulance service through an in-house lottery scheme.
Employees at the construction company, which forms part of the Keepmoat group covering the North West, Yorkshire, East Midlands, East of England, Cumbria and Wales, organised a 200 club draw to pool the funds, giving employees the chance to win £200 by donating £5 from their pay packets every month.
Granada TV presenter Paul Crone, who's a patron and former Communications Manager of the North West Air Ambulance (NWAA), arrived at City Airport Manchester to pledge his support and formally hand over the cheque.
At the same time, patrons of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA), Calendar news reporter Gaynor Barnes and weatherman Jon Mitchell, arrived at the Leeds Bradford home of one of two Yorkshire Air Ambulances to mark the generous donation.
Bramall Construction Ltd. chose the Air Ambulance service as its designated charity in 2006 and has since donated around £40,000 to help the life-saving crews stay airborne.
Bramall Construction's Managing Director Dave Prescott said: "We are absolutely delighted with the fantastic support we've received from staff, who have all been keen to sign up to the 200 club draw scheme and raise these much needed funds.
"Collectively, Bramall Construction has raised £12,454 which is a very impressive amount and is bound to support the service and help save lives."
"We decided to support the Air Ambulance service because it's a charity that relies solely on public donations. It' such a worthy cause and is clearly responsible for saving peoples lives. We touch the lives of thousands of people doing the work we do and I'm sure many people owe their lives to the work done by this organisation."
Abby McClymont, of the YAA, said: "We are extremely
grateful for the generous donation made by Bramall Construction and
for the company's continued support.
"Every penny we receive really does count when it comes to
saving lives across the region. As an independent charity, we rely
solely on donations from individuals, groups and businesses such as
Bramall Construction to raise our much needed funds."
